FAQ

WHO WE ARE

Relax and enjoy watching a film with like-minded people

We’ll make sure you enjoy your evening and the movie in a relaxed & fun environment, and we hope you are able to learn 1-2 things about the film we will be showing!

Thanks to funding from Film Hub NI, we are able to show films at a substantially reduced rate that people may find at the local multiplexes.

Also it allows us to take part in the BFI & Film Hub “Collective” tours which sometimes enables us to show Irish made films with the filmmakers in attendance.

Past films we have been able to show like this included “Bad Day For the Cut”, “Bump Along The Way”, “Nowhere Special” and “Lyra”.

All are welcome to our screenings and we regularly run joint events with local organisations, as well as have special screenings when possible.

Our work and screenings would not be possible without the support of Film Hub NI, Omagh Community House, our sponsors and you.

What We DO

At least once a month, we’ll show a film that we think a local audience would enjoy watching and may not have seen before.

It could be a classic, an old favourite, an underseen gem, a documentary, something made locally or a foreign film.

Whatever we show, you can be sure of a warm welcome and an entertaining evening!

Screenings

At Subterranean we strive to curate special movies and interesting experiences to our local cinema audience.

All our screenings are held in The Basement, of Omagh Community House.

Q&AS

As part of the Collective titles we show, we sometimes are able to host Q&A sessions with the filmmakers involved. This is a great opportunity for local people to find out more about the film and the work that went in to make the film.

Special Events

Every so often (and depending on funding) we are able to host special events.

This could be Matinees for kids or free showings.

Volunteers

Would you like to help out? We are always looking for film mad volunteers who wants to help out at events and how we do things. Interested? Get in touch!
